Thank you for choosing our office for your orthodontic needs! We are always excited to welcome new patients and families to our practice. We are dedicated to providing you the most current and advanced orthodontic care in a comfortable and friendly setting. Your first visit will be a complimentary consult for you or your child. Dr. Newman will carefully examine the teeth for a wide range of possible orthodontic problems, including crowding, cross-bite, gaps, etc. Afterwards, Dr. Newman will discuss her findings and address some of the most important questions that you may have including:

  • Is there a condition that orthodontics should address?
  • Is treatment necessary now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth or tooth eruption has occurred?
  • What treatment will be necessary to correct the problem?
  • Is it necessary to remove any baby teeth or permanent teeth?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • How much will it cost?
  • What are my payment options?

Before you decide to proceed with treatment we want you to have a clear understanding of the benefits and goals of treatment.

If you have had a panoramic radiograph taken in the last 6 months please let us know so we may request it from your dentist.

Orthodontic Records

If you decide to proceed with treatment after your complimentary consult, orthodontic records are obtained to determine the best course of treatment and finalize a treatment plan.

Complete diagnostic records typically include photographs of the face and teeth, digital x-rays and study models or 3D scans of the teeth. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each patient. These records are also used to track the progress of treatment as the teeth align during the course of orthodontic care.

While most questions can be answered by examining the patient during the initial consult, and a preliminary treatment plan can be formulated 95% of the time, there are cases when more thorough diagnosis and treatment planning is necessary.

For extremely complex cases, where there were unanswered questions during the initial consultation, Dr. Newman may take some time to analyze the orthodontic records and then schedule a second consultation, either by phone or in person, to discuss the treatment recommendations and treatment plan.
