To all our patients, friends and families at Bordentown Braces and Cream Ridge Orthodontics,

We wanted to reach out to give you an update regarding our practice, and our plans going forward in this new era of Covid-19. We thought it would be easier to break this communication up in sections.

When will we be seeing patients again?

This is probably the most common question we have been getting, and to be honest we just don’t know yet.  We are following the guidance from the Governor of New Jersey, along with the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.  Once we are able to start to see our patients again, we will start slowly so we can minimize the number of people in the office.

What steps is the office taking to minimize the risks of Coronavirus transmission?

Our office has always followed the strictest sterilization and disinfection guidelines provided by OSHA and the CDC.  We have always disinfected the rooms after each patient, sterilized all instruments, and wiped down common surfaces with virucidal wipes.  Any additional guidelines suggested by those organizations we will plan to follow.  We are using this downtime to plan ahead for the safest possible environment we can provide for both our patients and staff.

What may future appointments look like?

We are still working out the details, but once we’re open, the social distancing mandates will still be in effect.  This means that our waiting room will need to be closed to minimize close physical proximity.  Our current plan is to have a “virtual waiting room” where the patients call or text the office upon arrival and then wait outside or in the car.  Once the treatment room is ready, we will text or call you once your treatment area is ready.  We will ask family members to wait in the car to once again keep the number of people in the treatment room to a minimum and to follow social distancing guidelines.  After the appointment is over, we will ask the patient or a family member to call or text to schedule their next appointment.

We can’t wait to get back!

One thing is for certain, we can’t wait to get back to the office and see our patients!   During this time away from the office, our team has been taking a great deal of continuing education courses, staying in contact frequently, and making plans to get back to work.  Even though procedures and protocols may be different, the excellent care you have come to expect from our office will never change!  We can’t wait to see everyone!

Stay home, stay positive, stay healthy and keep smiling!
